Dr. Oxford’s comprehensive analysis, medication regimes, and anesthesia recommendations are unique and tailored to your pet’s individual needs in an unprecedented way. My desire is for every cardiac patient here in Rochester to benefit from her magic. She is unfortunately not located in Rochester and a two hour drive with a heart patient is not always ideal for the patient or the client.
We offer a unique service where you can schedule an echo with me, and stay in the room with your pet while I discuss my findings in real time. Meanwhile, my images are sent to Dr. Oxford for analysis and she makes incredible recommendations in her report to follow. This way, you will know right away what is going on with your pet and you are well prepared for Dr. Oxford’s input and report which gets delivered to you and your veterinarian within days. If your pet is in an urgent cardiac situation (experiencing clinical signs of congestive heart failure or arrhythmia for example), Dr. Oxford and I will communicate with each other and with your veterinarian to treat your pet with appropriate medication ASAP - even before the report comes back. Your pet’s well being is our top priority! We also appreciate the client and patient experience and understand the stress and vulnerability that can come with having to meet new doctors in a different location - especially if your loved one requires immediate attention.

I was one of the early beneficiaries of this fabulous teamwork between Dr. Oxford and Dr. Shemanski. I had a cat whom I adored; I was willing to drive 5 hours round trip to make sure he got the best care for his heart condition. I met Dr oxford and not only is she a wonderful cardiac vet specialist, but she is also warm and caring so I was ready to miss a day of work and drive to wherever she was. Then I met Dr. Shemanski who is right here in town. She is so terrific. I brought my cat to her and she patiently took the needed pictures of him and eased my concerns. She is warm and wonderful, quickly wrote up a report that had all the needed information for Dr. Oxford, and together they provided me with a treatment regime. If I ever again have a pet with a cardiac problem I will run to these two women to take care of any animal I love. I feel so grateful to them, and hope that for any of you who need this kind of care for your pet this can ease your mind that your pet will be in the very best of hands.
